Publix Appreciation Day
Posters adorned with little hand prints, a photo montage of clients with Alzheimer's or developmental disabilities, banners and many more colorful displays of appreciation will descend on each of Collier County's sixteen Publix stores, all part of the annual United Way and United Way agencies Publix Appreciation Day.
"There are not enough words or really any way that we can fully thank Publix for their continuing and outstanding support, " stated United Way executive director Ernie Bretzmann.
In 2007, Publix employees and Publix Charities, will give the United Way of Collier County approximately,$730,000, once again exceeding all previous contributions.
Campaign Director Shannon Anderson stated: "Remember that Publix's generosity is by no means limited to the United Way. Publix makes direct financial grants to many non-profits and you couldn't begin to count support through in-kind gifts. It's not just millions. It's millions and millions of dollars every year."
This year, Publix was named "Large Business Philanthropist" as part of Gulfshore Life's Philanthropy Day having been nominated by the United Way of Collier County. Previously, the Board of County Commissioners for Collier County honored Publix employees and Publix Charities with a Publix Appreciation Day proclamation.
